Diet Curd Rice

Dear readers though we compromise on many foods for our health and weight but we always miss some of our favorites. One of my favorites is rice especially curd rice. This simple yet mouth-watering dish is the one I miss regularly. So I discovered the low-calorie option of the same. I am happy to share the recipe.

Brown rice: 1/2 cup

Curd: 1 1/2 cup

Curry leaves: 2-3

Green chillies: 2

Cumin seeds: 1 tbsp

Salt to taste


Soak brown rice in water for 15 minutes and then cook it in  pressure cooker. After the rice is cooked add curd to it. Then add salt as per taste.

For the tadka:

Take 1 tbsp oil and then heat it. To this add cumin seeds followed by green chillies and curry leaves. Garnish with chopped coriander.

Your diet rice is ready.

Curd is good in calcium

Brown rice is a great substitute to white rice, high in fibre and low in starch.

Can have in lunch or dinner

Makes stomach full.
